LAKE FOREST, Calif., Sept. 9, 2005 – Wonderware, a business unit of Invensys Systems, Inc., and one of the world’s leading automation and information software providers, announced today that it is collaborating with its hardware and services business associates to provide special assistance to companies that need to rebuild their operations in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
This support offer is intended to assist companies involved in power generation and distribution, water and wastewater treatment, oil and gas production, refining, chemicals and other industrial manufacturing businesses. In addition, Invensys plc and InSource Solutions are actively supporting urgent humanitarian efforts by collecting and matching employee cash donations to the American Red Cross Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund.
To rebuild the affected area’s utility, production and manufacturing capabilities, a combination of software, hardware and services may be required. For qualified companies, Wonderware is offering no-charge, functional replacement software licenses for customers with an active one-year support contract. This represents a dramatic cost saving for companies in comparison to purchasing new or replacement software licenses.
Wonderware also is offering special pricing and upgrade options for its industrial-grade touch panel computers that come pre-installed with Wonderware's latest InTouch operations software.
Qualified companies are those that have sustained physical damage and lost production due to Hurricane Katrina, and are located within the federally designated disaster areas. Authorized Wonderware distributors for the affected regions, Standard Automation and InSource Solutions, also are offering combinations of no-charge software consulting and preferred application consulting services rates to qualified companies.
Several Wonderware and ArchestrA technology certified systems integrators including the Automation Alliance Group, MAVERICK Technologies and Prism Systems, are offering preferred services rates to assist companies in the rapid restoration of their automation and information system functionality. The special assistance business offers are available to all qualified companies, regardless of the automation and information software systems they previously had in place.
“We fully expect other hardware, software and services providers to join in these rebuilding efforts,” said Mike Bradley, Sr., Wonderware’s president. “The complete scope of this disaster and the timing for rebuilding utility and production capabilities in the affected region is still unclear, so we will keep our website continually updated with additional disaster assistance information from Wonderware and our business associates.”
